Plumeria got a famous because of its aroma from beautiful flowers, which have different shape and colors.

Origin:
Native to Tropical America. Now it's used everywhere on the tropical regions, especially Hawaii. In Asia, often planted near Buddhist temples, hence also called Temple or Pagoda tree. The common name "Frangipani" comes from a sixteenth-century Italian noble family, a marquess of which invented a plumeria-scented perfume.

The genus, originally spelled Plumiera, is named in honor of the seventeenth-century French botanist Charles Plumier, who traveled to the New World documenting many plant and animal species. Now Plumeria include 7 species: Plumeria alba, Plumeria inodora, Plumeria obtusa, Plumeria pudica, Plumeria rubra, Plumeria stenopetala, Plumeria stenophylla.
