How it was started?

When I came to the Dominica at the beginning of the March 2003 the first of my questions was: "Broadcast "Last Hero" was filming here, wasn't it?

"No, wasn't here" – was an answer – "But island had got a possibility to have filming on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean – The First Part, but because of delay in answering it was filmed in the Grenada".

At that time I just smiled about this information and had got a thought that if a sequel of the movie will film here it will be great.

News About Filming of Pirates of the Caribbean II & III

At the usual dinner of workday of 15 February, 2005, I was eating my sandwich and surveying the Russian site of news. Suddenly my eyes hooked on the word. I froze.

“Plans to portray Dominica's Carib Indians as cannibals in the sequel to hit film Pirates of the Caribbean have been criticised by the group's chief.”

So I found out by chance that Pirates of the Caribbean II, III already was filming on the small island, where I had to live and work. The most ridiculous thing, when I began to ask my friends and co-workers about this news, it turned out, that they knew about that a long time ago.

Moreover, sensation was created, that each third person works or somehow participates in the assistance of the filming: security guards, craftsmen, painters, and specialists in the computer technology, actors, taxi drivers and etc. – all of them was doing something for Disney. But news amused me most of all that the group of people from the Caribbean pirates stayed in the hotel where I constantly used to swim in the Caribbean Sea at evenings.

In my head was flicked the realization of the fact that I have to change my life, otherwise I will oversleep the first advent of extraterrestrials to the earth.

How to Get on the Filming of Pirates of the Caribbean

People said that one month ago the film crew accurately searched for white people for the backgrounds roles in the movie and gave announcements in the media. So, we with friend went to find last news about Caribbean Background Casting by the first hands.

Pirates of the Caribbean rented entire floor in the building of Dominican financial center, one of the highest buildings in the capital – Roseau. Raised to the cherished floor and left a elevator, we was met security guards who had a looking like a local: wide smiles and the dark color of the skin. They asked us about reason of the coming and directed to the man, who was responsible for this questions. Unfortunately, the casting on the backgrounds already passed, but he said to fill the questionnaire form in case, if someone unexpectedly can't come and replacement will be required.

As a result, if you have a wish then the possibilities definitely will come. Dream of filming the movie Pirates of the Caribbean on the Dominica sneaked into my subconscious, and what I just forgot to do that to think of myself to be in the participating of the Pirates of the Caribbean.

At first glance island didn't change outwardly: quiet and leisurely life, the hot sun and beautiful sunsets. It was just one difference: sailing vessels around shore of the island was more than before, and periodically appeared the closed regions which always had been surrounded by people with the portable radios and in the uniform – that's the Pirates of the Caribbean was filming there.

One day I had a plan to go to Scott's Head in order to have a swim there and on the road to Soufriere the traffic jam was organized by security who periodically blocked the motion of cars because the current episode of the movie needed to be filmed. When way was opened again the passengers of cars could observe how the film crew was organized on the road.

I only had time to note many white persons and white brawny fellows, and recognizable Carib Indians placed for the rest from the filming at the outside of the road. They were painted festively into the green-jolly combat colors, which unusual for theirs quiet life.

It will be so interesting, when film released! Indeed I will know places not by hearsay. This is the part of my real life. I will know what was hidden behind of this frame: Scott's Head, lights of Soufriere town or something else. When I imagine that my favourite cave Titou Gorge was filmed, the great smile overflow on my face, because it will a sequential reminding that the miracles live. In this mysterious cave the powered black walls raise up above you, lianas descend from the edge of cleft at the high, and falling to the water sunrays show up the Caribbean treasures in the shape of coloured sparkle stones at the bottom. In this cave I had got the sensation that I have been here before. It was a recollection from the past lives.

And it was so great that I didn't take any small part on the filming of movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”. I was in the reality there, but not in the devised world of producer, which imbued by the repetition of studied phrases. Instead of this I was diving all day, being poured into groups of fishes, which didn't afraid to swim close and gave me a chance to be with them in the one flock. To tell the truth, I had a one difference – I didn't eat from stones, but pulled by fins into time of theirs motions – the illusion was created that I was a one of these fishes.

Where the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean took a place and what happened

Most of the filming took place in the North Part of the island: Calibishie area, Portsmouth, Indian River, but some scenes was at the Soufriere, Laudat, where the cave Titou Gorge is most remarkable place for these purposes.

I note just one thing that from April to May during time of the filming, apparently, because of large quantity of outstanding and creative people was concentrated on the small island, and theirs brain pulses by sparks fell and charged the air of island – the irreversible processes was aroused in my subconscious.

I woke up and felt that I can catch winds. The amazing sensation of the confidence and knowledge, that all planned will be carried out. Feels tingles down spine and sensation of full breath. I decided don't do things which give me only money. I will be occupied what is my passion and make me feel the inspiriting. In this way I will not feel sorry and oversleep the wonderful. As advised Steve Jobs: “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish”

At 24 of May 2005 Filming on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean II and III already ended in Dominica. And on the usual regularity the some quantity of people from the film crew departed from the island in same time with me. They had to return to America, I had to go in Antigua to enjoy my vacation. Till I was waiting my flight, close to me people glanced into their papers with the firm signs of Pirates of the Caribbean and discussed something about the filming in another islands.

When I returned on Dominica and two month passed after I had a walk by those places of the filming, where I found that all plaster casts and edifices were preserved in the untouched form. How long can be this all lie at Russia in the forest without the protection? I doubt, that even in the city without militiaman it would not lengthen vapors of days.
